When I returned, the missing drive was back online and was crisis averted? Nope. Okay – time to get dinner and wait for this to finish. A few minutes later I ran the command and got something like 33.8% with 132 minutes remaining. At first I saw that the drive was rebuilding and was at 32.4% with 109 minutes remaining. Connect via SSH and run this command: cat /proc/mdstat You’ll get actual information about what’s going on. “You respond to a ping, but that’s it.” No web interface… Well, let’s see what’s really going on. What I next learned was that I have little patience for blinking lights. In order to see that it was a drive that had failed and not the board, I swapped the SATA cables for the two drives, tightened it all up and turned it back on. Once copied, I completely shutdown the Storcenter, opened it and checked the connections. I immediately made a backup to my workstation. I logged into my Iomega Storcenter ix2 and the dashboard told me the news: “A drive is missing from the device” However G, H, I and J still show in the file explorer just like the local C and D and they are still accessible.I was copying pictures to my network drive and I noticed that it was responding slowly.
IOMEGA STORCENTER IX2 DL PC
for example, I have created new B drive and an M drive on the External Storage Device, but I am unable to Map them to my PC because the IX-2 no longer shows up in the Network as a computer.

IOMEGA STORCENTER IX2 DL WINDOWS 10
After Windows 10 updated to the newer version last year, I have not been able to add any newĭrives I create on my external Network Storage Device (the IX-2). hard drive and DVD drive) and G H I and J are on the external drive connected though my small network. so when you look at my computer (in the file explorer, Left side of the window) it shows mapped drivesĬ and D are local drives (inside the computer i.e. I created on it as Drives and assign a drive letter to them, I then mapped additional drives this way from the Network Storage device to this computer. if I clicked on it I could map the folders What is going on is that when I initially set up this computer It showed my external network storage device as a computer with the name IX-2. I have had a very difficult time trying to describe this issue. In addition any new drives/shares that I create do not appear in Network so I can map themĬan someone help me, this is very frustrating and I have not been able to find a solution in over a year.
IOMEGA STORCENTER IX2 DL UPGRADE
Initially when I set up the computer all of the Drives/Shares appeared in the network and so did the NAS drive as "ix2".Īfter the very first major upgrade to Windows 10, the drives/Shares that I had mapped still appear but the "ix2" does not appear in Network anymore. Initially set up I opened the file browser, and on the left side of that window there is a link for "network". the NAS has several Shares or Network folders set up on it, i.e. I have a levnovo NAS drive on my network. I have been trying to resolve this issue for a very long time.
